So it seems that here on the East End, we got hammered much more than the epic over-reactions of what NYC expected. I have to admit, I loathe the winter months. I hate everything about being cold, and the shoveling – don’t get me started. I had gotten worried that my car, which we dug out yesterday during our snow-day, was going to be buried this morning. And it was. Literally. The plows which finally showed up some time in the night after midnight (when I went to bed), had made it to our street in Springs. They had never taken so long, but I realize it’s a difficult job and I wouldn’t want to do it.
During our dig, I started understanding why people love winter. It’s beautiful and everything looks so clean. I wish I had gotten a chance to get out and take more photos, as I worked most of the day unless we were shoveling, but I did get a few from my drive to work this morning. They’re not great, as they’re from my iPhone, but it will give you my little points of interest… things I love to look at on my way to the job.
We hope you’re safe and warm.
